Programs For Girls

Guidelines for All Girl Programs (Except Camping)

  • These guidelines apply to all programs listed on the various age charts, teen leadership programs and SMET programs.
  • Programs listed on the Camping page have a different set of guidelines. Please read those pages carefully.
  • Make sure you pre-register for all events before the deadline. Walk-ins are not allowed for girl programs.
  • Troop leaders are to collect written permission slips prior to the trip – a sample is available here.
  • Adults are required to be present for most events.
    • Troops should check page 69 of Safety-Wise for ratios before attending.
    • If a girl is attending individually, a parent is required to attend with her.
  • Arrive on time or a little early.
  • If you need to cancel, call the person in charge of the program.
  • Adults are to make sure that girls are considerate and well-behaved during the event.
  • These events are considered a troop field trip and a first aid/CPR adult is required to attend with troop (Safety-Wise page 83-86). Community Partners are not required to provide a first aid person.
  • While not always stated, most events have required minimum and maximums. Many activities are filling up prior to the deadline. If you are interested in an activity, plan ahead and do not wait until the deadline to register.
  • Activities that do not meet the established minimum will be cancelled and registrations and fees returned.
  • Programs marked “varies” are troop opportunities where a leader calls and schedules the program at the convenience of the troop and community partner.
  • Programs with specific dates are opportunities for both troops and individual Girl Scouts. They are not activities for adults, brothers, sisters, or other tags unless specified.
  • It is nice and appreciated if you send a thank you note after the event.

Girl Scouts of NE Kansas & NW Missouri welcomes ALL girls. Please call the coordinator for disabilities at (816) 358-8750, if accommodations regarding needs or facilities will help you or your daughter participate in Girl Scout opportunities. Some programs and facilities may have limited access. Please call ahead and we will do our best to accommodate.
