Girl Scout Troops
Girls between Kindergarten and 12th grade are organized into troops. Troops usually consist of 10 or more girls from one or more school grades (fewer girls in Daisy troops). They typically meet after school or in the evenings, sometimes on Saturdays, usually weekly or twice each month. Schedules vary to meet the demands of busy girls and adult volunteers!

When necessary or desirable, as in communities where there are few Girl Scouts, girls are often organized into troops that include more than one program level.

Individual Girls
Girls who want to be members of Girl Scouting may register as individuals instead of with a troop or group. Individual members participate in events, programs, workshops, and/or camping experiences.

Groups
Group membership is available to girls with common interests and/or needs who meet together as a group on an ongoing basis (may be only three or four times a year).
Interest groups may be groups of girls of limited age range who share similar goals and expertise or a multi-age level group in which girls with various degrees of readiness are introduced to a common interest. Interest groups may be of short-term duration or on going.

Girl Scouting In-The-School Day or School's Out Programs
In some areas, the school provides a special activity period when girls can select Girl Scouting. In other areas, Girl Scouting can be a homeroom, recess, lunchtime, or extended extended-day options.

My Summer Place
Summer programs are conducted in parks and playgrounds, offering the program to girls who might not otherwise have the Girl Scout experience.
