| • More than 2,000 area girls in second through 12th grades attended a Girl Scout camp in 2007. • As part of the Positive Power program, more than 160 Girl Scout troops collected over 30,385 personal care items for the 2007 drive. The program is designed to help girls understand their ability to impact the community by assisting victims of domestic violence. Since the program’s inception in 2001, Girl Scout councils have collected more than 200,000 items.
• More than half of women business owners in the United States and 70 percent of the women in Congress were Girl Scouts.
• In 2006-07, Girl Scouts of NE Kansas & NW Missouri Council is offering 139 programs with 134 community collaborators. Partners range from entrepreneurs and retailers to large organizations, including the Royals and the Red Cross.
• The adult/girl ratio for the NE Kansas & NW Missouri Council is 1 to 3.5 with nearly 12,000 registered adults.
