Trainers Workshops
These workshops are for trainers to enrich their training skills. If you would like to become a Council trainer, call the Adult Development Department for an application and more information.
Train the Trainer
Become certified to train adults taking Girl Scouts of NE KS & NW MO training courses. Train the Trainer is open to participants who have completed an application, interview and been accepted by a Girl and Adult Development staff member from Girl Scouts of NE KS & NW MO. The Train the Trainer course covers presentation and facilitation skills and provides opportunities to practice these skills and receive feedback from peers. Trainers conduct approximately six courses and/or conference workshops per year.
Certification Requirements:
- Be a registered Girl Scout.
- Application, acceptance and Trainer Orientation.
- Completion of the Train-the-Trainer course.
- Appointment as an Apprentice Trainer and one year practicum training under the supervision of an experienced trainer.
Note:
To progress to an Experienced Trainer Level, one must be complete Apprentice Trainer requirements, be recommended by a Training Team Coordinator or Staff member, complete a self-assessment, and complete council-sponsored Design and Facilitation courses.
Train the Trainer - Weekend Session
- Must attend all dates to complete course.
- Earn 1.0 CEU's for this class!
- Overnight lodging will be in a permatent or in the lodge, you will need to bring a sleeping bag and personal items and dinner for Friday. Directions and details will be provided in a confirmation packet.
- For those wanting to commute, training segments will be:
• Friday, 6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
• Saturday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Design Workshop
Trainers learn how to design a a workshop for the Fall Program Conference, Ad Staff Conference, or Outdoor Program Conference; or to help complete your progression from Experienced to Master Trainer. Bring a workshop idea and receive help on how to design the learning objectives and workshop around your tropic using active, experiential training design. This is one of two required workshops to be certified as an Experienced Trainer.

Facilitation Skills Workshop
Participants learn better when participating. Bring your training design you created at the Design Workshop or a design you have created to practice facilitation skills. This is the second of two required workshops to be certified as an Experienced Trainer.

Trainers Conference
This is the kickoff year for GSUSA’s New Leadership Experience. Come learn the latest information from GSUSA, how we are integrating this into the training curriculums, and local training team updates. Plus, enjoy time over the catered lunch to catch up with fellow trainers.
